Thursday

Two more days until my half marathon. I'm so excited. My legs are still sore from my workout on Monday and my 8 mile run on Tuesday. I took yesterday and today off, but I am looking forward to getting back to the gym tomorrow. Having my sister back in town is such a blessing. We motivate each other to keep moving. I'm hoping for a weightloss this week and definitely not a gain! We shall see. No Chinese food before weigh in day. Still learning :)

Limbo

Weighed in today and I gained 2.1. I didn't eat as well as I should have on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I wasn't expecting to lose too much, but to gain what I lost last week is annoying. I have been bouncing around between three pounds for the last two months. No more! I have 2 1/2 months until we go to Spain and I will lose 10 pounds before then. Focus!

Time flies

It is amazing how fast time can go. March is almost done and I have not written much here. My half marathon is fast approaching....next week! I am excited and ready. My mile time has gone down significantly since I started running a few years ago. I used to struggle with a 12 minute mile, but now I am always below 11. I am ready to really push myself next Sunday. My goal is to finish at 2:25 or faster. Weigh in day is tomorrow and I am hoping for another 2 pounds gone. I am tired of seeing the same numbers on the scale. So far my lowest is 157. Tomorrow I am hoping for 155. Today I must focus on my calorie intake. It is all about food!!! I did a spinning class this morning and burned near a thousand calories, but still must be very mindful of what goes in my dang mouth.

Weigh in Day

Sundays are my days to weigh in. It keeps me accountable on Friday and Saturday evenings, which used to be high calorie meals and drinks. I lost one pound this week, which is great. My weight loss goal for March is 6 pounds. How will I get that? Well, I will be following Bob Harper's fitness plan and upping my calories to 1600 each day. Because I am nearing my goal weight, I know that my calorie deficit should not be as big as it once was. I am aiming for a 500-700 calorie deficit each day. Sunday is my day off. I have learned not to go crazy, as my stomach cannot deal with it the next day and I feel awful too. I am excited for this new fitness challenge. This month I must also focus on my half marathon training. Such an exciting month. As far as nutrition goes, I will continue eating 3 meals and 2 snacks. I will eat more calories in the morning and early afternoon. My hunger in the evenings is usually low now that I have trained myself to eat more in the mornings. Very exciting. Even though I wish that I have lost more faster, I am thankful that I am truly making changes. I am living in a healthy way.

The 10k

Today I ran a 10k the fastest I have ever run before. It was amazing. To start it off my husband, who had worked until two in the morning, came to support me. I got my bib and did a bit of warming up to Ismael's insistence. When the race started, I ran at a slow comfortable pace and once I felt warm i started to push myself. The race was at the place I always run at, so I knew the course very well. This helped because I knew how long it would be until the end. I shadowed a girl for a good 2 miles until she stopped. I finished at 56:44 which is like a 9:38 minute mile, which is the fastest I have EVER run. I felt amazing. I am so excited to train for my upcoming half marathon. I have never felt healthier.

And so it begins

I have been on a weight loss journey for a year and a half. I started at my heaviest ever...185. Yuck! I have lost 16 pounds and have made many changes, but I am far from done. I am starting this blog with the hope that I will inspire others, be inspired, and once and for all get this weight off. I am excited for all that is to come. And so it begins...
